Thank you for your decision to purchase a flooring detail measurement from Premier Services Group. After your measurement is complete the information will be sent to the Store, and Premier Services Group will create a complete quote for your review. If you have any questions regarding the detail or installation, please contact us. Outlined below is important information about the installation process. It will help you understand what to expect before, during, and after your installation project.
The Independent Contractor will provide a breakdown of number and type of stairs, and style of stair carpeting for the customer to approve. Tack strip is normally reused. (Re-nailing as necessary and replacement of small number of tack strips is included. Interior wood doors may need to be trimmed after new flooring is installed. This service is available for an additional charge and may not be determined until after installation is completed.
Acclimation is not required for carpet installations. The Indepenent Contractor will bring all required product with them day of Installation.
Seam placement must be discussed and finalized during the measurement. Carpet is normally available in 12′ and 15′ widths. Customers are able to directly affect the number, type. and placement of seams by the amount of carpet they choose to purchase. Patterned carpet requires additional vinul for pattern matching and additional charges to perform the match. The contract price may include more product than actually will be installed based on the measured square footage. Seams are not invisible.
Existing Flooring Removal
If you have chosen to purchase the removal of your existing flooring through Premier Services Group, please be aware that our services do not include the removal of existing vinyl flooring in home built prior to 1986, as they main contain asbestos. Additional Charges may apply for any removal of highly stained flooring.
While every effort is made to include all labor in your quote, please be aware that additional charges may apply once the installer has begun the installation process. Unforeseen circumstances discovered once installation begins such as damaged subfloor, we subfloor, pet urine soaked carpet, insect infested carpet, unlevel or uneven subfloors, and termite damage will result in additional charges that must be approved and paid for by the customer prior to the contractor resuming work. Please refer to the Terms & Conditions of the Premier Services Group customer contract for more information.
If you have paid for this service, the independent Contractor will move normal household furniture on the day of installation. Please make sure any and all personal items are removed from all furniture to be moved. We also ask that you remove any glass items, including wall art. Any furniture that will not fit through a standard doorway will need to be broken down as much as possible prior to the arrival of the installer. Contractors will not move certain items such as antiques, electronics, pianos, pool tables, waterbeds, aquariums, safes, pin ball machines, exercise equipment, sleep number beds, boxes/totes etc. If you have questions regarding specific items, please feel free to reach out to us.
Prior to Install
Unless you have paid for optional services through Premier Services Group, you should make arrangements to have your furniture moved and any existing flooring torn and and removed from all rooms receiving new flooring prior to the day of installation. 48 hours prior to installation, the areas being installed in must have climate control, power and adequate lighting. Day of Install
An individual 18 years of age or older must be present for both the detail and installation. The Independent Contractor will confirm the the correct new flooring with customer prior to starting job. Customer should identify any wiring in the new flooring area such as alarm, monitoring systems, home theater etc. Please ensure children and pets are not in the installation area during the installation. Potential exists for minor scuffing of baseboards/walls. Scuffing will be worse with new paint.
